Hi everyone , Im from Vancouver, and just got my first bike 02 Monster 620ie, is good to find this web site I can learn lots of things! but right now I got some problem, I hope someone can answer me. Some times on the road when I clutch in and shift up or down to other gear, I can hear a sound "da" from transmission , it is quit loud, and the bike shake a little bit. but it still can shift to other gear, is it I did not change gear at right rpm? or is the transmission have some problem?

Welcome and congrats on the M620! [thumbsup]

You might want to also try posting your questions up in the Tech forum as they will get more exposure there.

Certainly downshifting at the wrong rpms will result in some noise and shaking.  Is the problem worse for downshifts than for upshifts?  Have you tried "blipping" the throttle when downshifting, does that make a difference?  Can you describe the noise in more detail?

I have found the monster to be a harsh shifter in comparison with other bikes

there is a definate thunk when shifting

this issue is amplified by a loose chain

however I cannot recall if it is noticable when in motion

usually it is noted at a stop when shifting from neutral to first

+1 on posting this issue in TECH there are a few talented Dr Frankenstien's over there
