....snip....
I recommend this product to anyone looking for an inexpensive safer way to store their firearm in their car for short periods of time when guns are not permitted where you are going by law.

If one is worried about having guns stolen, why post to the world how and where they are kept?   It's a detail nobody needs.
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

I am not worried about it being stolen, it is protecting yourself against it getting stolen.

The gun never sits in my car 95% of the time, it is just for that 5% it has to.

I can't even drive to work with my gun as my company policy states no firearms on the property.......even though we lease office space.

If I go to a place I know I can't carry.......gun stays at home.

If I went into a gun owners house, I could find probably every gun within about 20 minutes; It's not that hard. Everyone puts them in the same spots.

I move mine weekly.

It's not like we even know what car you own or where you live in your hometown. I like the idea of a lock box for the carry piece in the car/truck. Came damn close to having mine stolen last year in an Academy Sporting Goods parking lot. It was mid-afternoon on a weekday and I went inside for maybe 5-10 minutes max. Probably more like 5 since they didn't have what I needed and I walked right back out. My truck was parked in the shade of a tree on the edge on their lot... it was a 105 degrees after all!

Driver's side passenger door window was smashed in (it's a crew cab pick up) and I saw the dash glove box was open. I ran to the passenger side and opened the front door. Nothing in the glove box but oil change receipts. Then it hit me. Oh shit, the Glock in the center console!! Opened it up and it was still there!! Whew... I have it wrapped in a bandanna so even if you opened the console and looked you wouldn't directly know you were looking at a pistol.

About that time a delivery truck driver walked up and asked if there was a problem. He had been sitting in the lot filling out paperwork and watched the car burglary go down. He thought the guys who pulled up in a Suburban and went to my truck owned it and were just getting in the truck. The sound of the factory alarm sent them running but one took the time to open the glove box to look for quick snatch goodies. Not enough time to get inside and open the center console box or look around. The truck driver couldn't get a license plate number and the store security video showed nothing. Their outdoor cameras all point at the entrance of the store not the lot.

The police detective who took my report by phone said that lot and the adjacent Home Depot lot are the hottest car theft and car burglary lots in my part of town. He had seven more reports on his desk from that lot over the weekend!
Ahhhh... wouldn't it be nice if Academy and Home Depot hired some lot security or maybe the local police put one of those tinted window/elevated watch towers in the lot??? Ya think???

Long winded story (as usual [bang]) but a good warning to folks that leave lap tops or guns in their cars. I rarely go back to that Academy but the couple of times I have gone back I carried my pistol in my waistband and when I go to the front doors of the store I will turn and stand there for several minutes and watch my truck to see if anyone approaches it. Nothing wrong with being paranoid if you have a good reason! Damn sure don't park the truck off by itself anymore no matter how hot it is! ;D

It's not like we even know what car you own or where you live in your hometown.

Most people know what town I live in. Most people know what vehicle I drive. Nobody knows where I live unless you did a look up on the web, but even then, I am not sure I come up.

however, the vehicle I drive are a dime a dozen around here.

That answer was too obvious to give statler.

Damn dude, your story is crazy about your Glock!!!!!

I just wish with my safe I didn't have to unholster it to throw it in there.

Your post has been eating at me all day and after several members PM's to me, I feel a need to respond:

If you don't like my postings, then why do you respond? Do you like flirting with Rule 2.7? How does your wife feel about that? Being married and flirting really isn't a good idea. That's my piece of advice to you.

Also, another rules exists:

2.4.  Members will not post people's personal information.

Therefore, if people know where I live, work, frequent, etc, that was posted on my own free will, not by anyone else.

I wrote up a nice review of an in-car gun safe that will mitigate the theft of a firearm.

Who cares about the pictures of where it sits?

People already know I have firearms, so if I am not in my car where I can't carry, just go to my glove box. Now, I have made it a bit more difficult to steal my gun if I am not carrying it in my vehicle.

I guess your Wilson Combat probably sits in your nightstand or in some safe. I don't care nor do I really care.

I believe you live in Maryland and if so..........hope you passed all the "rules to even get a permit. It is pretty difficult there, however, based on your occupation, I am sure it fell under one of their many exceptions.

Anyway.

I bought an in car gun safe.

I posted pictures of it to show actually the size of it in a vehicle verse website photos.

If you would please stop responding to my postings, that would be fantastic. You never have anything positive to say and other members have noticed this, just not my thread on your secret moderator forum where you can bash me.

Thanks,

Does every post have to be a make the beast with two backsing diatribe?

You want a link to the definition?

He doesn't like you

It's no secret......but he can get his point across in less than 50 words.

I'm feeling the same way lately because of your verbal diarrhea and you screaming look at me constantly with your posting.

Quit quoting the make the beast with two backsing rules...we can read...actually we wrote them...remember?

He doesn't have to stop...he's not breaking any rules.

Get over yourself dude.

It's just the internet. [roll]

Oh jesus, here we go again...

meant to be posted before Nate laid it down...

cyrus buelton

you know what?

I wrote a response to Nate's little admin response from Statler and really have no reason to post it as it is not worth it.

It wasn't breaking any rules, just not what this thread is about.

It gets tiresome being shit on for every make the beast with two backsing post I type. I am not the only one that notices it.

Just read my PM's Nate, I know you can because SMF Software allows that.

Damn folks, can't we just get along via Rodney King rules? We have a common love of scooters (Ducatis in particular) and doesn't that settle most issues? I'm the leading, rookie dumbass here but damn!! Guess I just need to go on a ride! Don't we all?

I'm not petty enough to give a make the beast with two backs what smoke people blow up your ass Jud.

You want to talk about tiresome?

You've jacked another thread sufficiently to get it locked...which I'm not going to do...but more importantly...

pissed me off hard enough to earn your perma-ban...you are truly not worth the time.

Go visit Greg wherever he hangs these days.

I truly hope you'll be man enough to go away with as much dignity as he did contrary to your previous history.
