Wasn't quite sure if this should go here or racing/trackdays.

Here's our favorite gun toting MotoGP racer having fun in Argentina. My brother and two of my friends have all gone down there and completely worn their shoulders out shooting dove. My brother said the last day was just a half day morning hunt and no one really wanted to shoot anymore but no one wanted to look like a weenie and back out. Later they all admitted to the same thing and only shot because everyone else was going to shoot! Looks like some kind of fun!

My brother and both friends said after a while you only start working on your worst shots. Whether the bird is coming at you, going away, etc. You constantly get so many shots of all kinds you just pick and choose which ones you want to work on. And they all said they lost count of the accidental doubles and triples. The flocks coming at you were so dense you shoot at one bird and one or two extras also go down!

My brother said it was really cool to watch all the raptors swoop down on the wounded birds on the ground. They could have cared less about the shooting and all the movement going on. They were just trained to take advantage of the free buffet table!!

Just got back from the range.

Should have taken more ammo. Wasn't there long.

Feels wrong to have unfinished rounds.

Just hard cast lead from whoever has a decent price and stock.

I've ordered from dardas and seminole brass and bullet and found their quality to be ok.  Wife bought me 1000 115gr lrn  9mm for xmas and those were good too but i don't know where she got them. 1 bullet out of the 1000 was missing its grease.

Were you shooting 9mm or .45?

Prices include shipping and from what I've read it's good stuff.

The guy that runs the outfit is one of the top guys in the world and it's what he uses and they have stock on most items.

I haven't shot .45 in a while.

Those are pretty good prices for jacketed bullets (which i can't shoot at my clubs indoor range)

As i recall the last time i got lead .45 round nose it was about $50 for 500 usps to me.

As far as cast bullets go, if you sniff around at local gunshows, etc you can usually find someone who casts decent bullets locally.  Typically they are cheaper than the majors and you can save on shipping.  When it comes to lead, shipping is significant.  Once I shipped 500 special 480 grain swaged paper patched bullets I made to a customer in Switzerland - the shipping was about as much as the bullets at the time.

If you can put together some group buys, I have a Class 6 Ammunition Mfgrs License and can typically find some good prices on large lots.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

ML, your indoor range won't let you shoot jacketed bullets? Really? I have had a some what similar issue at an outdoor range where I took a tact urban rifle class and the instructor (cop friend who runs TIGER Valley) got a killer deal on Wolf .223 HP ammo for the students since that range wouldn't let you shoot ball. Too bad I couldn't run a full 30 rnd mag in any of the four ARs I took!! [bang] Burned me on Wolf forever. :P Why won't they let you shoot jacketed ammo? I'm guessing some sort of ricochet concern and liability. That was the anti FMJ issue at the outdoor range I mentioned.
