Pressing on the primer to remove the slide lock pin.

Brilliant.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Anyone have experience with the .300 AAC Blackout?   .223 case pushing a .30 bullet.  The AR looks like a great platform for a supressor.  Also uses standard 5.56 mags.

Thoughts?

I just started a build.  Midway USA has decently priced barrels.  I may convert my AR pistol as well.

I guess I was a little vague  ;D

Suppressed 300 Blackout

YHM upper and lower
Delton Parts kit
geissele trigger
Wilson Combat 16" barrel
Undetermined  free float forearm
Undetermined stock
Magpul BUIS

This will be my pig gun.  Currently using a suppressed 5.56, but rather have something a little quieter.  The 5.56 still has the supersonic crack.

What twist are you using in the 30-221?  I made a couple guys some custom bullets for bolt action suppressed 300 Whispers - IIRC they were 230 - 240 grains with a large lead tip and a rebated boattail.  The guy was using them for harvesting deer on a deer farm while making a minimum of noise.  I shot the bolt action Whisper and all you heard was the firing pin falling and the action tightening up and the bullet hitting the target, there was virtually no muzzle signature at all.

It had a 20 or 22 inch barrel and a large custom built brake and it completely ate up that little powder charge.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

1 in 8" twist.  I'm planning on starting with a 220gr Sierra Match King for my subsonic round.

Not wanting to rub it in but my goof off/shooting festival trip to my friend's west TX ranch was kick ass! Booze, cigars, GREAT food, some sleep here and there and shooting all day Friday and Saturday!! [thumbsup] [popcorn] My buddy and another friend built an awesome dirt berm for rifle shooting right before the opening of dove season. They cleaned out his drought ravaged stock tank (it's a big one!) with a rented dozer and his Case with a front end loader and box blade. Did a real nice job and used the excess dirt for the berm. New neighbor built a house on his property since last dove season. It's out of sight but right in line with our line of fire. The new, tall berm was really needed for safety reasons.

We dumped an untold amount of lead down range. Which is nice. ;D Had a couple of close range 1/2 size ISPC steel targets on stands (thank you very much Arntzen Steel Targets!) for pistol work, and a 6" and 10" steel circle targets on stands at about 140-150 yards on the big berm. Had two stands for cardboard IPSCs with Shoot-N-C stickers at 50 and 100 for scope sighting along with my spoting scope.

We got several scoped rifles doped in and had 4-6 of us shooting in non stop rotation. If you weren't busting caps you were either reloading or spray painting the steel for the next guy. Nice to see the Arntzen T500 steel targets handle the .223s and .308s so well. Hadn't used a .308 on them yet and you really couldn't tell the difference in the smalll dings between the calibers. They'll last for years! [thumbsup]

A friend's grown son has been trying to decide on an auto pistol so I took a wide variety of stuff for him to play with. He fell in love with my Glock 34 with aftermarket sights. I figured he would lean the .45acp 1911 way but I guessed wrong. Oh well, the 34 is a great pistol. He liked the longer barrel and sight radius over the 19 and 17. The 3.5 lb trigger was a plus too. I had to make sure it was still in my range bag when I left... he liked it that much!! [laugh]

Good times with good friends and lots of good BS, laughing and shooting. Hard to beat! It was nice to enjoy some cool fall weather for a change. The younger guys went hunting for deer and hogs but saw nothing. Lots of sign around the feeders but that was all.

Oh well, looking forward to the next repeat performance! [beer] Excuse me, but I have a few guns to go clean. ;)

So nice!

I like the carbine setup better.  The main problem I have with the AR is the recoil system, prohibiting a proper folding stock.  they came up with that goofy ass telescoping stock for the M4 which most people Set and Forget.  A folding stock has far more use.

One of the reasons I love the Daewoo AR100 and the original AR180.
