The view from my desk this morning:



I'm starting the class on a week of math & finance work on motor vehicles & motor vehicle ownership (I'm teaching one class a day in Financial Literacy at a local High School). We started the week with students circling up around the bike & using math concepts to answer the questions on the whiteboard behind it: How do we make it: Faster? Safer? More Efficient? Cooler?

And Friday night, at the end of the week, we're capping off the unit with a field trip to a Phoenix-area dragstrip. Teachers (and my principal) will be making runs, and we've arranged with the track for students to ride along if they wish.
By hammer and hand all arts do stand.
