Any chance you know that road?

I might have been there, but despite crunching my brain I can't figure out where it is. I could ask around on local forums. Any chance you could ask your folks?

I already sent a text to them.  But they are old and memory is so-so, so they may answer "near Rome" or something.  Will let you know.

Well...

Norway is 'right next door'. [laugh]

It would help if they knew the general area or which towns/places they were on their way to and from.

It's not uncommon for Americans to think that Europe is a country, so it wouldn't come as a surprise  8)

Fun fact: if you tilt Norway (southern tip as a pivot) it would reach Rome. Norway is long. Our coast line is ~25,000 km while the US coast line is ~20,000 km. Counting the fjords, bays and islands - it's over 100,000km - beaten only by Canada.

Hiked up Mt Washington last weekend. It was a typical foggy whiteout on the way up but as we were getting ready to descend, the clouds opened up for some rare views of the White Mountain range.

From summit (sorry, my finger is partly blocking the left):

A view on way down of some of the other peaks: Clay, Jefferson, & Adams.  This shot reminds me of Scotland for some reason, though I've never actually been.

And of course, endless hills of rocks and pine brush:

I might have remembered if you asked ten minutes after my post, but I guess 'on it's face' is as good an answer as anything.

OK, I was curious and looked it up. The Norwegian 3rd spot is only achieved if they apply a shorter 'distance between the dots' to include more of the ragged coast line AND not do the same for the other countries  ;D  The list without cheating would put us at seventh and Russia at third or fourth.
