From a different view.

It really isn't that much more difficult than hiking around the Hollywood Hills. [roll]

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I do know the pilot.  (Not me this time)

This is a mountain just outside of Aspen which seems to have an unnatural attraction for dumbasses that are way out of their league.  We pull at least 15 - 20 people off this mountain alone every summer.  Total rescues every year off the Maroon Bells is over 100.  Several deaths every summer.
Somehow...I'm not surprised.

FWIW, my dad & I were among the dumbasses who got in trouble up there, circa 1974. I was just barely a teenager, he was probably pretty hypothermic (I didn't yet know what that was), coming over the pass that's probably just outside the right-hand frame of the photo.  We were lucky to walk out under our own steam.

Man, I have fond memories of that backpacking trip!  :)

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

It's just wet stone and concrete. So maybe not the grippiest surface, but not super slick either.

Cool!  How high up is that?
Not as high as the mountains in Bick's pic... ;)

1200' above the lake.
