Both are nice Cruisers.  There are quite a few old FJs down here.  I'd love to get my hands on one.
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

My wife is a connoisseur of all things weird and/or odd...

And she married you.  What a coincidence.

When I shared that with her, she said that I'm the crown jewel in her collection.

I recently picked up a Land Cruiser, myself...

  ;D

Let's see... No ambulance doors, wipers on the top of the windshield & the single-piece rubber hood bumpers... Looks a lot like my old '73. Can't see if it's three on the tree or on the floor to pin down just what early 70s model that is.

I do recognize every one of those rust spots, including the recently-repaired ones around the wheel well.

It was originally a 3-speed, but the transmission was swapped out for a 4-speed when a previous owner performed the sbc swap.

It's a 1970.

While there's some rust in some usual spots (bottom of the windshield frame/top of the cowl, bottom of the doors), the tub appears to be completely free of rust and never repaired.  Best I can tell, the silver paint was shot to cover some bondo that was applied to the fender flares to fill some gouges. Why he didn't just buy new flares is beyond me...  ???

But the backside of the fenders appear to be completely flat with no signs of welds/splices/repairs.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Sounds like a beaut! I had mine in Northern Virginia, and as we'd patch rust holes or replace entire tubs, my 'Cruiser friends & I would speak in hushed terms about this mythical thing we'd heard of, the "Arizona Truck."

Now that I live in Arizona, they're everywhere...  My 1985 FJ60 has it's share of issues, but rust isn't one of them.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the whole story is with this one. I picked it up in Frederick, MD. It was this guy's third one. One of his first two he'd already completely restored, and decided he wanted a hot rod project instead of another FJ40. He got it from a guy in Ohio. It damn sure doesn't look like it spent much time in the rust belt though.
