I have a choice to make...

I notice you didn't go to a Harley forum to ask the question. ;D

Do you have a place to ride where you can stretch it's legs? I wouldn't enjoy a SBK in the city.

I'm in Glendora, not far from Angeles Crest Hwy and the desert.  So, I would have an opportunity to ride either one on the types or roads appropriate to them.  Of course, both have capabilities that exceed my skills (the H-D with the 117" kit will make around 120 HP with 116 lb/ft of torque).

Harley Forum?  No way.  I'm not a spelling Nazi, but those places tend to be downright illiterate.

Still, I'm an BMW/DUCATI/H-D kinda guy.  I've ruled out about everything except the two options in the meme above.

Harleys haven't ever done anything for me, so I'll pick the Duc. That's an opinion, and worth exactly what you paid for it - friends of mine would disagree vehemently, and we're still friends.

But I have to ask - why such disparate beasts? Within the price range of either, you'll find a whole lot of bikes that will carve canyons quite nicely but are more livable than a SBK for us mere mortals - the Multi, the new SuperSports & Diavel come to mind in the Ducati lineup, and I'm sure BMW has a model or two that would do the same. Why these two?

Well, after tonight I'm revising my choices to the H-D or a Monster 1200R in black.  May concern with the Monster is that I have no room for my right foot.  My heel will be on the exhaust shield.  Just how is that going to work?  Maybe it would be okay with the Termi set up.  I don't know.

With the Hog you can cruise or tour, with the M1200 you can cruise, tour and sport. I have owned three Harley's btw.
