I'm not familiar with too many aspects of the military...

Does this happen everyday when they change the watch or guards at their posts, or is it like if they get a new General or something?

(I really should know more about the men and women who put their lives on the line so I may live mine...  [bow_down] )

Not a daily thing. Change of Command, new Colonel, General etc.
