Ha ha! My "vacation" is over! (again?)

Responded to an offer today. I bet they want me to start Monday. Whee!  :D

I was called into the office at about 0930 this morning and fired.  The reason given was that I refused to go out to coffee with the Duffy. Apparently, if your supervisor asks you out to coffee the correct answer is yes, not we can talk here. I was also told that all this time I should have been kissing her ass.

3 of my ex coworkers took me out to coffee right after and then 2 more that I worked closely with from the environmental compliance office took me to lunch. I just got back from a nice dog walk with another ex coworker. That would be the one that also reports to Duffy and was moved into a office 5 miles away because we were to friendly and Duffy felt left out.

The Duffy did not have the balls to fire me her self, she let the other boss in the department do it.

I am in shock and scared to tell the SO.

Is that a legal reason to fire someone?  I would talk to an employment lawyer...
