We were poor.

These were the only toys I could afford...

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

my mom had a erector set..... she kept it in the nightstand next to her bed. .... only they spelled it differently :-\
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

I loved Spirograph!

There's a direct correlation between the decline of spirograph and the rise in gang violence.

Think about it.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I'd totally forgotten about Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys! Loved those!

Remember my grandpa helping me build neat stuff with Tinker Toys.

Ha, spirograph yes.

And Lite-Brite,
then the Barbie,
then the Barbie Camper,
then a pony,
then a horse
and then a lot of horses,

then...boys.

I loved Transformers, the original ones where you could join all the robots together and make one huge one.  Also had He-man and Skelator action figures, matchbox cars, and slot cars.
Some people are like slinky's.  They serve absolutely no purpose, but they always bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Fresh Pants

Stompers anyone? I had a little yellow Toyota-like pickup, and a Peterbuilt tractor/trailer.

Lite bright was fun too (well it was my sisters'). I think I only completed one of the patterns before we broke the bulb and never used it again.

Stompers were pretty cool!

I had the red Toyota and the plastic bridge with the logs for it to crawl over.

Also, I just now - at this moment- realized that my first vehicle happened to be a red Toyota 4x4 that spent a lot of time in the woods [laugh]

this can't be a coincidence.

I loved Stompers as well. I likeked the water proof tank things and the 4x4 truck.
