White Spar Construction

Rode the Skull Valley-Wilhoit loop up White Spar into Prescott this morning -- there's fresh pavement & "Watch for Construction" signs (though no construction happening while I was passing through) South of Wilhoit. Just as you pass through Wilhoit, there's a reader board sign set up that warns of construction delays that may cause stoppage on White Spar 9/7-9/10, if I'm remembering the dates correctly. I couldn't find anything on the ADOT site, but it's worth trying to find out more, if you're planning a midweek trip up that stretch.

The well-potholed pavement on the lower 1/3 of the hill has been patched since I last rode it a couple of weeks ago -- probably a net improvement, but do be on the lookout for the little patches of black gravel that have separated from the main repairs. It's not that bad, but worth remembering.

Thanks for the heads up Brad!  I also noticed similar construction/conditions (long overdue) on the way up Mingus mountian when on a road trip to Jerome a couple weeks ago.

They are going to ruin the "character" of those roads.
