For the third year in a row we went out and spent a week at the BUB Speed Trials in Bonneville, Ut, at the salt flats.

This year we ran my 1994 Ducati M900.

Here is a video of the M900 doing its first run on the salt. Top speed in the timed mile (mile 1 with the green flags) 124mph.

and a few photos:

We also crewed for my bother-in-law's stream liner side car, the Flying Kiwi2.

It set a new AMA record, 182.411

Video of both Kiwi2 runs, run 1 N to S

Run 2 S to N

All week we were visited by some A-10's from the local AFB. Video shot with my Droid X:

Very cool, Alan & Felicia!!!

How rough & rutted does the salt get along the course? It looked a lot bouncier for the Kiwi's run, though that might also be camera position & suspension differences.

Nice job!!!
By hammer and hand all arts do stand.

The return run, miles 11-9.5 were very rough. That is what I think you saw on the video. Otherwise it is pretty smooth. Of course the Kiwi doesn't have that much suspension.

Way to go!
Have you two done this before?
Looks like a good time and perfect weather too.

This is the first year we ran a bike. We have been the previous two years a pit crew for Felicia's brother who runs the Flying Kiwi2.

VERY COOL - there was another guy up there from South West Rides who's set numerous records on his bike - that looks like a totally awesome experience!

Thanks for posting up!  [thumbsup]
