Just got my 05 S2R Dark !!!!!

Hey guys... Just got my 05 S2R 800 Dark a few days ago and so far i LOVE it.  Was riding a GSXR and like this soo much more.  It has 7k miles on it and is in great condition.  Im a car guy by nature and if i mod this bike as fast as i have done my Lexus IS350, it will cost me a fortune so Im gonna try to take it slow.  Can I have some suggestions on first mods.  Anywho,  just thought id introduce myself.  I look forward to learning more about this bike.

Suspension. Most members say the stock set up on the S2R 800 is crap.

Yeah... the stock suspension on that tier of monster leaves a good bit to be desired. The good news is that there's a few shocks for the rear from other ducatis with better components that are drop in, and pretty easy to get for a low cost. The forks, that's a bit tougher as there's not as much cross comparability.

Also, on that bike many folks find the front brakes a bit lack luster and upgrade as well.

There;s plenty of info and helpful folks on here - so once you figure out a battle plan there's lots of help. Also, there's lots of local area sub groups on the board. Take a look, you might find you live near some other Monster folks.

Welcome and congrats on the S2R!

You'll get lots of ideas on mods in our Accessories & Mods section, but your bank account might not like it.

I would keep riding it for a little while before making any decisions...but suspension is a great place to start.

I got an S2R 800 a month ago, in twisty UK. No problems with the stock suspension but...
No I mean butt you should get the gel touring seat.
It will have you in the bike rather than on it.
It will be my first mod with each new duke I get from here on. (I have 3)
