Zooom has tempted me with the MAD route which goes along one of my favorite roads: Thurston Rd. [moto]

So here's a possible variant for the route. A bit longer but well worth it! Another possibility is to skip Harpers Ferry Rd on the way out and keep it for the return trip.

If we do go with this route I will consider shortening the return route. Not slabbing, just shortening. ;)
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

I would never do anything tempting?!?!?....LOL

That's almost as good as the Viva Italia Spaghetti Breakfast Ride... Spaghetti Breakfast

Nah, looks like a good route. If the folks that plan these things can get their heads together we wouldn't be going different directions on the same friggin day to go look at the same friggin things.

Side question... anyone know of a way to load a map made on Google Maps into an Android 1.5 phone? 2.0 has the neato Navigation app but 1.5 is a bastard child.
Every time I meet a new group of your friends that understand you and your weird sense of humor I'm a little more amazed that there are other people in the world like you that lived through childhood - My loving girlfriend

I will probably in the back takin it easy as well, at least on the trip down.  Lucky for me I got a shiny new nail in my back tire, so I'll be rocking a brand new tire in the back [bang]

I actually have printed a few copies of the route and planned to bring them on the ride. :-\

Monitor your tire pressure (once a day, not every 10 minutes) and you'll be fine. Did a whole track day with a nail in my rear tire, didn't have any problems. [moto]

Don't kid yourself about 2.0...I just got updated to froyo and still don't have the functionality that I want. You can load a map in 2.0, but you can't use it to navigate. I mean seriously, google makes all of the components...make them talk to each other!!!!!

I'm lazy and don't feel like sorting through all the previous posts  ;D

I know the Potomac meet is at 9:30, stands up at 10.

What time is everyone leaving Shirlington though.  I'm assuming like 9 or so, but I didn't see a time stated in the earlier posts.
I have a couple friends that might come out and meet us there, so I wanted to let them know what time they should be there.

zooom

I would assume 35-40 mins from Shirlington to Potomac depending on your pace and lights...

just saying as a general bit of inflomation...

I would've chanced it, but from last night til this morning it lost over 15 psi, so I took it to get a new back tire.  So I'll just have to go easy on the trip down.
696DCrider, I believe we are leaving Shirlington NLT 9:00.  I'll be at caribou at 8:30.

Daaamn, did that nail fall out of some wall bearing frame!! My tire was leaking maybe 5psi over a week!

Take it easy for the fist 50-100 miles or so and you'll be good.
