I low-sided near my apt during a right turn at low speed on my triumph.  New pavement topping had gravel in it.  I went down, the frame slider did its work and saved the bike and me.  The main thing, the alpine boot took the brunt and I am thankful I always (99%) of time wear it along with my forcefield knee armour.   I was pinned under the rear peg and ofcourse 6 to 7 cars simply passed me by while i was struggling to free myself. Finally motioned for oncoming car that was about pass me to f'n help me out.  Cagers really do Suck azz.

Moral of the story : Wear your gear

not sure why the images r not showing

Glad I wore the alpinestar boots.  It sure saved me.

After the wreck, I dropped off my bag and went to IronPony to get my front tire as per my plan.

ab , glad to hear nothing got hurt except your feelings.

I'm surprised one of those cagers didn't run over you  :o

When you speak of Alpine Boots you are talking about Alpinestars.......... or Alpine climbing boots ( big heavy ) Boots ?

Thanks Dolph.

Yes, I meant to say Alpine star boots that I bought a few years ago from this forum   :)

It's funny I posted in for sale section that I wish the boot I saw there the other day was my size as I am in need of replacing it.

I remember a month ago, a lady at a traffic light lost her footing and dropping her bike with her in it.  Her friend on another bike is just sitting watching her and the cagers at the traffic light do nothing.  I came from another light and watch this as I am heading her way and immediately jumped off my bike to help her lift.  Nothing happen to her but the f'n cagers and her friend just watching her is just nuts.  What is wrong with people ?

As for me, bit sore today on the neck, bit swelling on hips (wish I did not return the forcefield pants I bought as it had ripped after few days of wearing) , my right ankle tiny hurt there and I don't think I have broken a rib (done that before and boy that hurt) but feeling a bit something something there.  All in all I fared well.

As for bike, back brake we had to put it back in place (heat it and bend it back) but looks like it will need some welding.

It's funny i stuck to my schedule, right after the low-side I picked up the back dropped my laptop off and headed to pony to pick up my front tire (part of the cause as it was in much need of change) and took care of it and then rode around till 1 with some friends (probably not smart).  Oh yeah, I carry the new tire in my waist on the bike  :-)  (2nd time to do that)

Take care and wear your gears !

Great, city put a "loose gravel" sign where I wiped out yesterday.

Atleast, I take comfort that another rider will be spared.

Got to laugh it off!

Glad you fared well! That's pretty hilarious riding with your new tire around your waist. I can only imagine how funny it looks.
Is this thing on?

Howie

A tire around your waist can absorb impact :P

Glad you are pretty much OK ab.

Thanks somegirl.  I posted the pics now.

As for lawsuit, not worth the trouble.  Besides, I am ok and bike is ok. So time to move on.

I notice that the road is free of gravel now and the sign has been removed.

Can  [leo] stop you for carrying a tire on your waist while riding ?  (I have a feeling the answer is "yes")

how do you like those forcefield knee armor?  these are the ones that just slide over ur knee and are held in place with elastic?  did they save ur knee?  do they work better/worse than riding pants you think?

glad the boots saved ur foot mostly and that the fall wasn't more serious!

danaid

  ab, glad your OK!!!

How did your knee armor hold up. I just purchased the Forcefield shorts and knee tubes a week ago and did a little write up on them, I like the fit and quality so far.

Sorry for delay, I didn't see the post.

I wear the knee armor n that didn't have a scratch at all.  I can't say for sure if I had full impact on it.  But I find that the velcrow gets loose.  It could be that I have chicken legs.  I never ride without knee armor n my forcefield back protectors (either jacket insert or ext one)

I returned before he accident the under armor as it tore up after one ride In The stitching.  I think if I had it the lil bruise on my hips would have been avoided.  I may save up and buy their new one .
