anyone have any experience with any of the jackets in the alpinestars city collection?  I'm particularly interested in the fleece.  i know its not tons of protection but i figure its better than a regular hoodie on those quick trips around town.

they seem to advertise the verona as water proof but the fleece as water resistant.  i really wish the shops would stock some so i can take a look but i have to order them just to see.

i appreciate any feedback.  thanks

i'm going to reply to myself.  found a store that had both in stock in my size so i could compare.

the northshore fleece is quite thin.  good for around town but wouldn't wear it if it gets in the 50's.  good for quick trips during spring and fall.  the pads are thin foam and flexible.  the fleece doesn't look bulky at all when you wear it.  unfortunately, it doesn't look very protective either.  however, it'd be better than just wearing a regular hoodie for the guys who find themselves doing so.  size runs a bit small.  unless u like the tight fit, then normal fit for you i suppose

the verona jacket is what i went with.  much heavier and obviously a fall jacket.  the waist is a little longer than traditional motorcycle jackets which is nice.  runs a little small.  the hard bio armor is nice.  but obviously adds bulk.  ignore the reviews that say it doesn't look like a moto jacket.  it does.  but it is muted and therefore almost casual.  without the armor and inner liner, this almost looks like a fashion moto jacket.  liner has sleeves which is much nicer than my joe rocket with a vest liner.  got it a little dirty but wipes clean very easily. tested it and it is very windproof which is what i was looking for.

the seams on the verona are much cleaner than the fleece.  the fleece has seams everywhere there is padding.

this and a neck gaiter and i'm ready for the colder weather.
