Does anyone know if the Corsair V and RX-Q shells are the same?

I own one of each and all I can say is that the RX-Q is much more comfortable than the V.

This is w, the RX-Q right out of the box, and the Corsair -V having been worn probably a dozen times.

The cheek pads are softer and the RX-Q feels a little bit more roomy.

I just got back from a 5 hour ride and my head feels fine w, the RX-Q.

Air flow is good as well and I can't speak to how quiet it is since the Earplugs I wear eliminate practically all sound.

I'm looking at a new helmet as well and these two are at the top of my list. Dolph, is the RX-Q noticeably lighter than the Corsair?

I don't think enough that you would notice.

I'm helping a friend get started in motorcycling and we discovered she has an Arai head. We were at the Triumph dealer in Austin TX trying on riding gear. One of the salespersons was very knowledgeable with helmets so we went through all the other brands. I thought the Corsair and RX-Q shells were the same, but we thought the RX-Q was just not as snug on her head as the Corsair. She's unemployed, but with pretty good savings so she balked at the Corsair price. I'm an Arai head, but I feel comfortable in all the other Arais I've owned: Corsair V, RX7RR3, Profile, Quantum 1 and 2, Signet. I think she'll be okay in the RX-Q. In fact, I may pick up one myself. Thanks for the advice Dolph!

Had a chance to try both out yesterday. The RX-Q felt a little lighter both on my head and the wallet, so I'm going to grab the RX-Q over the Corsair. Thanks for the post, Dolph.

Will do. Just waiting for it to be shipped. Online prices are much better than buying it at the local dealer.  :)

I have a six year old RX-7 Corsair and a new RX-Q. I don't find much difference between the two, aside from the price. Both very well ventilated. RX-Q may be a bit quieter.

The new RX-Q has an enlarged Visor opening for a greater field of Vision than the older model RX-7.

I know, but the difference is negligible.
