I just bought an older model Vanson off Ebay, called the VSRV Velociraptor, that much to my surprise has to be the most perfed leather jacket I've ever seen.

My most used/fav jacket to this point has been a Dainese Delmar that's perfed and flows a fair amount of air, enough to keep sane up to maybe about 85 degrees (for me, anyway). I'm thinking this Vanson is going to be my new hot weather street jacket, and I can save the mesh for the outrageously hot days now (95 degrees plus).

It's perfed almost everywhere, and the perfs are much larger than any Dainese I've seen. Also one of the lightest Vanson leather jackets I've ever picked up, if you're familiar with what they're usually like. But the leather is still definitely the heavy stuff they usually use. Definitely unique.

When my bike comes back from RetroSBK  [evil], I'll definitely drop a note as to whether it flows as much air as it looks like. Cuz damned if it doesn't almost look like a mesh jacket when a light is shining through it!

I have a similar perfed Vanson (same perf density, but not exact same jacket) and it does flow quite nicely.  Eighties can feel down right chilly when moving over 50 mph, low ninties are somewhat comfortable at speed and over 95 degrees . . . well there is really no help for 95+ degree days while wearing leather gear.

I have a now out of production Dainese Nevada that is heavily perforated that may be like the Vansons you are talking about.

It is lighter than most of my other Dainese leather jackets , even those that are perfed, but it has the same Composite Shoulder and Elbow Armor but is perfed everywhere..

I think the Air is the replacement for the Nevada.

The  Nevada was available in several different colors whereas the Air is not.

I just googled the Nevada, and it seems to be the same jacket I've been trying to find the name of for a few weeks. I was behind a guy in one on a group ride, and then a week after, I realized 'damn, I think I really want that jacket now!'. I thought it was a real 80s Dainese...it had the funky old version of the Dainese script across the back...and the number 72, hich I had forgotten about until I just saw some pics now.

Now I need to find one. crap.

[edit: I know you love Dainese, and I love them too, but from the pics of the Nevada, it's not the same...the perfs look to be the same as my Delmar, maybe only a little bit "bigger".]

I believe the Nevada was discontinued either last year or the year before. ( see newly added photos above )

Watch Ebay.
