First cast image from the remake of Red Dawn:

Featured in the picture above is the core Red Dawn cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Edwin Hodge and Alyssa Diaz.

The storyline: A group of teenagers look to save their town from an invasion of foreign soldiers by taking refuge in the woods and going on the offensive. Actors Chris Hemsworth and Josh Peck will portray the brothers Jed and Matt Eckert, roles originally played by Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen. Unlike the 1984 film which pitted the teens against the Russians, the new band of "Wolverines" (the nickname the group calls themselves) will face of against Chinese invaders.

...flipping the Russians for the Chinese?? Oh great...another disaster of a remake.

At least the continuation of Indiana Jones kept the same bad guys...even if the last movie wasn't the best.

Oh, and on a funny note, the movie 2012 was named "Worst Sci-Fi Movie Ever" by NASA. You know it's bad when NASA beats you down!!  [laugh]

i don't think that change is so far-fetched. the upcoming (unrelated except in concept) homefront video game has korea as the opposing force.

coincidentally, "...the game is written by John Milius, who co-wrote Apocalypse Now and wrote Red Dawn. The beginning gameplay is reportedly set in Montrose, Colorado."

I wanted to see that and had completely forgotten about it. I'll wait until it's out on disk or streamable, but I do want to see it. That's something amazing and crazy that he did to get free... I don't know many people (myself included) who could do the same in those circumstances.

Update 1: Transformers

Though Michael Bay has promised that the third (and presumably final) installment of the Transformers franchise will be much better than the suckquel that came out last year, I find myself having trouble beliveing it when I see something like this:

If you counted, your eyes do not deceive you - yes that really is 4 guns and some sort of cannon on the hood of nothing less than.......a NASCAR...

[thumbsdown]

Update 2: Jack Ryan Reboot

It's been confirmed that Chris Pine is taking up the role of Jack Ryan in the series based on the Tom Clancy novels. Pine will be taking over where Baldwin, Ford, and Afflec left off. Thought the movie is still a ways off, the current working title for the next Ryan installment is "Moscow."

Godzilla: a new script is being written and this amazing Japanese franchise will be making a comeback in the near future.

Green Lantern: currently undergoing re-shoots in Los Angeles.

Transformers: First look at Megatron as a truck:

Netflix One Click Remote: Beginning this Spring, buttons that specify "Netflix" â€" including some featuring the iconic red Netflix logo â€" are planned to be situated prominently on remote controls that operate certain new Blu-ray disc players and internet ready TVs from a variety of companies including Best Buy's in-house Dynex brand, Haier, Memorex, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, and Toshiba.

Superman: The Man of Steel. Though Christopher Nolan has a massive cloak over this project, it's recently been confirmed that timeline-wise is that it will be released “Holiday 2012″ (provided the world hasn't come to an end).
