My Metzeler M5 Sportec Interact Supercalifragi blah blahs came in today from these guys .... I only used them because MCAS couldn't get the sizing I wanted in to the country. (160/60 and 120/60).

I'll fit them up soon (as soon as I get some spare time).

They're getting GREAT write ups.. Is anyone running them at the moment?

Can't say I have read anything about them.
But IMO you should have gone to a 120/70 bit more meat makes for better cornering stability.

Oh wow.  Thanks for that.  I hadn't found anyone who would ship tyres to Australia, and the choice for 160 rears here is pretty tiny.  Now I have heaps more choice for tyres.

Yep, thats where I read about them, I was pretty impressed by the write up and as I am due for a new rear I was going to put a set on but a mate of mine got me a cheap set (as opposed to a bad set) of Dunlop Sportsmax GP Racer - E and M, the only down side with these tyres will be their heating/cooling cycle as this may affect the way it wears, but from what I've read they are excellant in all areas of side grip, comfort, and wet weather performance so they will be on some time this week.

just fitted some up and rode 2600k down to the gp and back.....needless to say they got a real work out in the wet ...i was pretty impressed in both wet and dry ....altogether i couldnt fault them .....couple of rider concentration lapses had nothing to do with the tyres.........if they improve with a bit of warm weather and warmer tarmac i think they will be excellent road tyres .....so far they are wearing better than a pilot power....i will keep you informed with progress........... ..........................

BTW - if I was shopping for new tyres via OP's link.....  pair of BT16s @ AU$328 shipped is hard to beat....   Finding somebody to fit em who isnt pissed off that you bought the rubber elsewhere might be an issue though....

Just to throw some more info into the never ending quest for tyre nirvana. 

I have tried Bridgestone BT15 and BT16 on the rear and found they go square pretty quickly. 15 cost me $345 and got 8373kms out of it the 16 cost $378 and got 9341kms from it.

I'm now on my second Pirelli Angel.  Both have cost me $268. Both times I have had to ride in a deluge from the shop after fitting and haven't had any problems with them in the wet. The first Angel I got 9849kms from it and it still had a bit left in it.  I changed it because I was getting the bike serviced at the time and it had gone a little square.

All up I was pretty disappointed with the Bridgestones but I'm pretty happy with the Angels.

But I have not finished experimenting just yet.

You did well - my rear BT16 showed me its steel belt    at 5600kms....  but they did grip nicely... and at $328 for the pair....  I'd be prepared to give em another go.

I dont think I'm thrilled with the Power Pures I have now....  although with 4,000kms on em they're still lookin nowhere close to shagged out yet (the last 50% of tread always seems to vanish in 20% of the distance tho).

Nice milage from the Angels..... but is there a grip compromise for that longevity do you think?

But the return to the original subject....  Metzeler M5s did get a great review (although a German brand reviewed by German writers in a German Magazine... maybe favouring the local product perhaps?).

I'm thinking spending some money on kit to mount them yourself might be the go.

Regarding the Conti Sport Attack, i ran into the Conti rep at the dyno day and he was telling me that they are getting great feedback (tho he would have to say that).  George at D'Moto is selling them and seems very impressed. He said that even when they are three parts worn they still get the same grip. Think i may give them a try real soon.
