Looking for reviews. Going to replace my old Arai. Will be keeping my Shoei for the track. I only know of 1 person that bought the 1000 and they loved it. I have experience with Arain and Shoei and want to be sure that this will fit the bill.

It's heavy, but aerodynamic.

The internal shield and inflatable cheek pads rock.

Do a search, the EXO-1000 is discussed in multiple threads.

It is heavy, particularly when compared with my Arai, but does not feel heavy once it is on your head.  The visor does have some distortion, but, IMO, not a problem.  Padding is good quality for a helmet in that price range.  Yes, the internal shield and inflatable cheek pads are great.  Like any helmet, try it on to make sure it fits your noggin correctly.

The Bearded Duc

I have one of these and love it. They seem to fit a little big. I bought a medium and could have gone with a small, which is why I use the back up (EXO 700) right now.

Has a retractable sun visor, breaths very well, and comes with an attached chin skirt too. And like the others have said, the inflatable cheek pads are the tits.

It might be a little noisier than the Arai and the Shoei but it's nothing some earplugs can't fix.

All in all, a great lid for the price, I was very pleased.

So it's considerably heavier when carrying, but not noticeable when wearing. Noiser, but the price, sunshield and inflatable padding outweigh the 2 cons. Cool! I'll be getting this for X-mas so I need to swing by at try it out. Thanks guys!

That could be an issue considering the 4 month rainy season here.

I just replaced my EXO700 with an EXO1000.  I got it on sale at CycleGear for $139.99.  So far i really like it.  The inflatable cheek pads and the flip down sun visor is really cool feature.  It does feel it weigh's more then my EXO700, but its not that bad.  For the price I paid, I cant go wrong.

Ditto on the above posts. The flip down sun visor comes in handy when caught out with a clear visor on sunny days. I wear ear plugs in mine!! Just curious from other owners, I have the speed/rpm model, is the grey part reflective? it seems to have that look.

I saw that Cycle Gear has them on sale. I would be looking at a black one.

I've chatted with the owner of Helmet Harbor in Phoenix a couple of times, and his reviews appear to be pretty straight up -- nothing significant that hasn't been mentioned above, but another opinion:

I went ahead and bought it at Cycle Gear. $180 for the helmet and additional visor. You can go wrong for that price. I could buy 2 of these for the price of a cheap Shoei AND it comes with all the great features. I'll be trying it out on Monday. Thanks to everyone for the great advise.
