well I finally got my newly bought S4R out for a spin. Its been a long long time since I was on a bike so It was a nice easy ride around the block a few times. Once I got a feel for it, the bike was real easy to ride. I love the ride position too.

I was out for about 30 min or so, just a quick ride, but it felt good. Its hot as hell here in MD hope it cools back off soon.

one of the most exciting thing about a new bike is the first ride or first rides. its kindv'e like a first date. you know the one that you are really excited to go to. and you know that the girl is excited to. i have long since gotten over the first date with my eighthundred. but know i am getting to know it better and that is a reward in itself. i find myself more in tune with the machine, and as i share more and more miles with it, i feel like our bond grows tighter. the ron

Congrats on the 1st ride and a safe one at that. Every time I would get on my S4Rs it felt like a first date that you knew you were going to have an exciting time but weren't sure how the date would end but always up for wharever the 2 of you decided to do.My problem has always been instead of a nice enjoyable ride , I wanted to head for the sack I mean I wanted to twist the throttle and get the rpms up there . My S4Rs has always been on the same page and we've had more great romps in the hay so to speak than I can count but you always have to remember that one sort of big word RESPECT. The times I haven't I have had to pay and this last time I paid dearly . I haven't been able to ride or do much of anything since a crash on 4/5 but I'm hopeful that I will ride again before July unless it stays as hot as it has been these last few days.

Thanks folks,

I have to admit it was a bit more than I expected it would be. There is lots of power down low on these things. I just have to get a good feel for that clutch and Ill be good.

Hope to get her out again tomorrow for a little ride to the local bike shop to look at some new gear.

Congrats on a safe first ride, remember to treat it with the respect it deserves, and it will always be there for you. ( a bit like my wife )
