What a great day! Up there with the best ! There's people out there who'd pay a lot of money to do that sorta shit  ;DThe road going down to the cave - the real tight twisties the fallen trees over the road , dodging big lumps of rock the water and the mud bits the turtle the rabbit the roo the giant grasshopper or whatever it was splattered all over my visor , giving it stick in second on the road after the caves and  the front end up, not to mention my new flashing stop light  :D and a great bunch of people.!! Hey Matty, i want your new jacket ! [thumbsup]
I got a monster and i aint afraid to use it !

This video is evidence that I came first for at least one of the stages!

But seriously, great day again. Good to meet and talk to new people, and was cool to have another P plater around similar skill level for the ride.

At the end our group went via Lake Lyell and split again to go via Katoomba/Great Western Highway. We too got a little rain up in the highlands but as soon as we were on the M4 it was back to sunny, warm and muggy weather.

Hopefully we can get another OZMO ride in before the end of daylight savings next year.
Cheers, Rod

You guys had me going for a while ... thought you were in two places at once - shows I need to pay more attention.
Believe post content at your own risk.

Hi. I’m Troy McClure. You may remember me from such self-help tapes as “Smoke Yourself Thin” and “Get Some Confidence, Stupid!”
NYTimes: "...highlights of his global tour include encounters with Nelson Mandela, an 800-year-old demigod and a dildo collector."

Road down to Jenolan was absolute shite!

Overall, it was a day filled with police, gravel and dirt on the road and potholes, yet also good friends, good times and lotsnof good riding.

Good to see some old faces, and good to meet a heap of newer ones

Actually I really enjoyed the Jenolan Caves Road, Matty and I had quite a good run, and I must say publicly that Matty has improved quite a bit since I last rode with him. I just sat on his arse and rode with him, the pace was'nt crazy but it was quickish.

Yes the police, when we got pulled over by the RBT and you do the blow in the bag, in this case count 1 to 5 and produce your licence, the copper said do you have another licence, of course I said no, why would I need another licence? He said that ones out of date.

Yep sure was, when I looked at it, it was 29 days overdue. I didnt recieve a renewal so I didnt renew it 'cos Iwas unaware that it had lapsed.
Anyway, he would'nt let me ride no more and I had to get my wife (she's a darlin) and one of my son's to ride my bike home.

Yeah I agree with you Nick, good to meet up with old and new people, an enjoyable day

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......

Thx Mmick.

Yes it was a great run down the Caves road the best run I've ever had, cept for the little over balance on that corner.
The young Jedi has been training.
Glad you got sorted out for the return home.

Matty, I did appreciate the phone call this morning, things being sorted as we speak (write). Which reminds me, I must adjust the rear shock, its still set up for pillion passenger, a wee bit too stiff.

Dont worry about the foot dab thing, always better than getting on the gas too early and creating an highside, it happens to all of us (not the highside).

The planned route was always Duck-thingymy road.
Tarana was only a lunch option that didn't get used.
Glad you all got home fine.

always ?

Sounds like a plan is forming:

head up bells
across to mt vic
jenolan caves , amke broom broom noises through the cave drive
oberon , get fuel at the servo , mobil? end of town and pick up some ammunition there ;)
out to oconnell pub for a bite to eat
conitinue to tarana , maybe have lunch there ?
back past lake lyall ? which amazing is full of water again
into lithgow at the shell on gt western,
then back down bells and home

no dirt this way , you get dirt if you go to tarana from the middle of oberon instead of going out to oconnel

good day 350+

for an overnight , also head out to sofala , maybe a bathurst detour

and the map

i stuck a map up here

http://www.motowhere.com/maps/route/richmond-oberon-tarana-richmond

its 130k to oberon from richmond and prob a couple of hours  stop for fuel then about 20 mins out to oconnell pub for lunch

so about 3 hours i guess for round figures

been a while since i have done this one

we dont go down into jenolan caves as iirc there is dirt out the other side, besides the fact of tourist buses down there

either way great day, shame you guys missed the spillway in full swing
i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

If we are gonna be getting *big* numbers, maybe we should just consider eating at Oberon instead.

Beginning of the route sorta like this: http://bit.ly/9vEUkQ [Testa friendly and pretty straight forward once you get past Richmond]

Ettamogah Pub Caltex.       0km
regroup causeway @ Bell
Mt Victoria Caltex.             ~100kms
regroup carpark on the other side of the Cave (Vroom! Vroom!)
Oberon Main Street. (fuel, cafes, junk food, bakeries, etc). ~100kms

Return route via ???  (Maybe Duckmaloi road) back to wherever (past lake lyall? I dunno. I  miss ferries and people get dirty :-[)

I know this bit. No, really!

Sorry, I guess that there was some 13 pages of banter before we left maps and plans got lost in the excitment of getting out for a group ride again.
I was running by this map/plan of coming back via duckmaloi road.

Anyways, we all had a great day and got back.
