I don't think so at least for now. I don't do much prototype work and I don't need the tax write off just yet :)

Sandvik guys were in yesterday.

Told me about another account breaking turning tools.

As in, the shank broke. Not the insert. They were using 2.5" square shank tools. And breaking them after repeated 3/4 radial cuts in titanium on a big lathe.

Big as in 400hp.

I'll say it again.

400 horse power lathe!!!!

When I was putting my time in as a wire monkey we converted a mill from generator power to the grid.

They had two machines with 500 hp motors...I forget what they did...but logs became something a lot smaller in not much time.
