Must do from the rocks on the cheap.
1 - grab a ferry over to Manly and back - maybe go for a swim in the ocean (once you get off the ferry, walk through the plaza over to the ocean side) if the weather permits.
2 - go for a walk, from the rocks head around circular quay towards the opera house... Continue to walk through the Gardens, sticking to the water all the way.. eventually you'll reach Woolloomooloo and a place called Harry's Café de Wheels... it's an experience.
3 - Drinks at the Opera Bar (downstairs on the forecourt at the opera house).. Best to do it one night during the week so it's not too busy.. Not the cheapest, but an unbelievable view.

After reading everyones suggestions..........its probably not too late to change destinations..........
But when the arrival gets closer we can work your itinerary out.......
You would need at least a couple of weeks to see Sydney and surrounds.....as for Victoria or Queensland.........you will need at least two to three weeks to see beautiful Sydney........get my drift.....?
