Pretty neato offering from Asus, for those like me that want something in more of a netbook offering.  Runs android, docking station/keyboard also serves as a battery life extender (from eight to 16 hours), mini HDMI output, one USB, and a microSD slot.

I'm wondering how complicated the charging situation gets (do you charge the tablet and the dock together, can you charge one without the other?, which one gets charged first?), how much it will cost (reportedly $4-700), and which OSes you can run (not tethered to iTunes, but I still don't like phone OSes) but it looks promising...

Apparently verizon wireless stores have slashed the prices on the first gen Ipad. 16gb-299, 32gb-399, 64gb-499.

At&T online store is selling the 64gb+3g for 529 (link - http://goo.gl/uN2Hx )

the wife just stopped at the verizon store and bought a 32gb for the 399.... just a heads up i suppose

easy come easy go...    ....I can't get over how much they cost...as it would only be a novelty for us, it still seems cost prohibitive.

They be even more cost prohibitive when the supply really tightens up after they run out of existing flash memory modules.

It has a zillion uses. I will be using it mostly to surf the web, send text messages, emails etc., also for watching movies. It wirelessly synchs to my iPhone 4s so any photos I take with the phone automatically go to the pad.

The new imessage is pretty snazzy, and icloud seems like its gonna be good, but these things are part of the OS. Aside from the "meh" cameras on it, the faster speeds, and lighter weight, it cant do much more than the original one can. If you're just looking to do these things, maybe look into getting an original Ipad. Enjoy it!
