National Cycle windscreens

Has anyone come across National Cycles windscreens?  Wondering how good/reliable they are...  I'm considering whether I should order one for my M796.

Looks like they only have two models for the new monsters, with a 2.75 inch difference in height (but same width), and I'm wondering how big that difference really is when cruising at high speeds.

Thoughts/opinions appreciated.

Dark tint, 15.25 inch.

Light tint, 18.00 inch.

The wind screen results are highly individual.

My three inch higher Zero Gravity lifted the air flow ~ 8 - 10 inches.

From looking at your options, I'd be very surprised if you'd need the tallest one.

Good to know - as I was in fact leaning more toward the dark tinted one.
Thanks for chipping in  [beer]

I took this statement to mean I was allowed to give my opinion.  ???  I do apologize to the OP. What he should have posted is 'Only glowing thoughts/opinions appreciated.'

Oh come on. Where's your sense of humor? I could take the time to properly dissect the design and elaborate on why but I thought I would be concise and just say it's fugly. And gargantuan. And fugly.

But at least it's cheap [cheeky]

No apologies necessary.  I welcome + and - opinions.  I was not expecting only nice comments, so thanks.

I also think it's not the best design, but so far it's the biggest I've found that could potentially offer the best wind protection for touring.

I also think the material it is made from contributes to the price, but will probably vibrate less and last longer.

Plus, it looks pretty easy to put on / take off, so it could be quickly removed once back home from a weekend journey, so the monster goes back to its normal looks for city riding.

i'm not a big fan of any of the current monster fairings either...

i'm sort of waiting for one that looks a bit more like the ones on the speed/street triple.  more low profile, i would just want a bit more protection.  but i can see how that will be hard to design with how the monster headlight is set so close to the forks.

I wonder what the reason is behind the screen over a screen look.
Anyhow, for me it goes against the whole Monster (naked) look - no fairing and no massive screen.

each to their own I guess

I think it's good so that you can put it on and take it off without having to touch your instrument box.

I totally agree.  The nakedness of the monsters is one of the greatest things about it.

However, imagine you're going on a week long trip.  I'm sure having a big screen will contribute tremendously to your comfort, so you'll be enjoying your monster, and at the same time not suffering from headwinds, which can really drain you at high cruising speeds (say 70+ mph).

he's gotta point  :-\

But- I recently rode 575 miles over two days with only a Dart flyscreen installed. Worked fine, didn't dwarf me or the bike. [thumbsup]
