Today my friend entered the toll both doing 40mph.... @ triboro Bridge.. *one of the busiest bridges in new york city..
he locked the front wheel right in the middle of the line .. which had a thick layer of grease/oil.. he went down and hit the curb with his shoulder and knee..
he got up with no scratch or bruises..  the titanium padding of his dainese laguna seca jacket saved his shoulder from dislocating.. and the knee pad + boots protected his leg from breaking
when his bike went on top of him..
Thank you Dainese  for making great gear!!   [clap] Proud owner!!

Glad your friend is OK.  Stay as left or right as reasonably possible at toll booths, they are nasty.

yeah, i make sure to always stay out of the middle too... instructor in msf told me about how slippery the middle is and also most of the people i know that ride say that that's where they've either lost it or have almost lost it.

pretty lucky that he didnt hit the barrier on the triboro toll too... that would have made it even worse.  glad that he's ok though :)

its because all the cars/trucks stop there and leak etc... and since it's covered, rain never gets to wash it away.  just accumulates like crazy right there... and esp since the triboro gets so much traffic.

Glad your friend is okay. Glad the gear did its job. My brother told me that no one ever slid down the road thinking "I should have bought cheaper/less gear." Sounds like your friend lived by that same philosophy, and thus will get to keep on  [moto].

What kind of pants / boots was he wearing?

I was all about to say "don't you hate cagers who drive around leaking crap all over the road" when I remembered that I have a leak that needs fixing...

...damn-it!!

Wow D! Pwr Steering on a bike! How cool is that!  haha!
Yeah, cage droppings are bad all over. A toll booth sounds especially so.
Other than slick, the center of the freeway lanes is also where all the commuter turds and rubber alligators congregate! Keep a veiw of auto-drones in their sideveiws keeps you out of the crud and in their sight!
Cred to good gear too! I've always liked the rule on equipment costs....
Sure you got a deal ....if your head is only worth $150 !

I'm glad to hear your friend is OK, but...

Does anybody _really_ believe those fashionable little titanium patches on your jacket can do anything to protect you against dislocating your shoulder? Call me cynical, but if you've got enough energy/force to dislocated a shoulder, a few square inches of titanium Dianese logo isn't going to make any difference...
