Ducati Apparel Warranty Crap!

I purchased a Ducati Tricolore jacket 1.5 years ago and recently submitted a claim.  The leather on the arms was cracking all the way down and the woven fabric had come loose and started unraveling where the arm meets the chest.  The claim process took almost a month and when all was said and done, Ducati issued me a credit of 60% of the original purchase price.  Coincidentally, this is the same price the jacket is selling for now in their clearance sale, that they don't have in my size!  How is this right in any way?  That is the biggest bullshit warranty I've ever heard of!  Well if we can't fix it, we'll refund you what it is selling for now?  (At a 40% loss)  In the process now of raising hell.

They are giving you the amount needed to get a brand new jacket and you are still upset?

Negative...they don't have it in my size.  The new jackets they have are $600.  Yeah I'm upset when someone refunds me 60% of something.  I wasn't tired of the jacket, it failed.  If I had the option, I'd have it repaired.  That's like a Termi system failing and Ducati refunds you 60%.  In no way is that justified.

So, basically you're saying that they're willing to give you enough of a refund to go out and get a brand new version of the exact same jacket?

Sounds to me like they've agreed to replace it with a similar (identical) item, which I'd wager is exactly what the warranty card that came with your jacket said they'd probably do.

What, specifically, would you like to see them do?

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Been a year and half of wear.  Getting upset is understandable though if your store is out of the product.  Can't you buy it from another Duc shop?  Other locations should honor it.

Maybe you should have done whatever you did prior to starting this thread. Sounds like it needs to be deleted.

I'd prefer to hear someone begging forgiveness for going off half cocked...

you know...

singing praises about the offender...admitting you were wrong...

taking responsibility for your actions.

Never mind...

I just woke up and realized I'm in the US in 2011.

Most warranties are prorated after a certain time frame.

It sounds like you got 1.5 years of use out of it.  That's not a small amount of time.  Clothing doesn't last forever.

I would be very surprised if they gave you a full refund of your purchase price, it's bad business.  I'd be pissed if I was an investor.
