Crazy.  I went to college 20 minutes from there and never knew they had a track.  Pity, I would have definitely gone to races.

Sweetness!! [thumbsup] I've said it before and will bore the shit out of you all but I make the beast with two backsing love AMA flat track... short track included! I lived for the old early season Houston indoor short track races years ago. Mert Lawwill, King Kenny, Bubba Shobert, Dick Mann... hell even Black Bart Markel in his day. Bless his soul. He passed in 2007. Probably the best dirt tracker ever. King Kenny would most likely agree. [bow_down]

I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

10 cameras, but most of those were GOPRO's.  I worked closely with a crew from Chet Burks Productions to get all the angles.  You won't recognize the name, but he does almost everything that you see in the US that is motorcycle racing related.  Everything on SPEED or other networks, including AMA, WSBK/MotoGP satellite feeds, etc.  Cafe Racer on Discovery HD is there latest project.  Cool company, any guy that has a historic race bike on display in his office is ok in my book!

Springfield is coming up May 28/29, which marks the start of the Twins rounds.  If anybody wants to check out a Grand National this year, here is the schedule:

This is BS!! No Indy mile because the stage blew down? Huh? How much of an investigation do you need to figure out that a big ass gust of wind knocked the stage down? Really sorry for the loss of life and the injuries but to cancel the flat track race because of that is just goofy. [bang]

For what it's worth, they cancelled ours this year (the Yavapai Mile, just up the road from me in Northern Arizona) because a gentle gust of wind blew down the house of cards & taxpayer subsidies that was holding up the balance sheet of the local horse track...   >:(

It was about time!! ;)

That is a great story, Willie held off the best to earn his first Springfield Mile at the age of 42!!!  It was incredibly close, we will have some highlights posted in the next few days.
