Nolan helmet sizing. Do they run small?

So, I have decided to go with the Nolan N90 helmet. My head measures 22.25", which would normally fall into a medium sized helmet, but I read a few places that say the Nolans tend to run a bit on the small size. Can anyone comment on this? Just debating if I need to get a large, or if it is going to be too loose. Unfortunately, I can't seem to locate anywhere near me that keeps them in stock. Thanks!

I tried a Nolan on a few years back. Don't remember the model.

While I didn't like the fit I couldn't go up a whole size.
