I think he's deserving of his own thread so here's HIS first post via an email this evening (and his referral to "everyone there" of course includes his DMF family):


"We seem to be very mobile.

Nothing ever goes as planned.  Maybe it's someone else's plan.  More details later.

Not that our available bandwidth is always sufficient, but occasionally Skype does work well.

Dragsterhund is supposed to be around here somewhere.  Going to try to track him down at some point.

Forgot to add that he, at the moment, is north of Kabul in a town called Bagram.

No address yet.  Although he did say he got internet access but wasn't able to log on (for whatever reason I don't know).

Have to say I got a great laugh out of your e-spat with The Randimus!  And getting a thread locked, to boot!  You are AWESOME!!!

You can tell Kopfjager that Green Beans is doing very well.  Now TWO locations at Bagram!  I have not found Pizza Hut (not that I have had that much time to look)

For all those on the board that feel like saying Thanks to the Troops, here is a "If everybody on the DMF gave $2.00" thing...  People seem to be happiest around Green Beans (cafe).

I don't think the Pizza Hut is there anymore.  McChrystal shut most of the facilities like that down when he got to Kabul, and there's a good chance it didn't open back up.  Tell Bick that it was located next to the  Green Bean, right outside the door to the main (if there's more than one now) PX.

He was probably about my age when he did that move. Main difference was he was in a movie and he played a Zero.
