arrow slip-on questions

well i was looking at the arrow slip ons for a 796, and some sites say you need a cat pipe connector, is it necessary? or can i just attach it to the stock collectors
11' M796, SC project GP slip-ons, 1100DS cams, BMC air filter with modified airbox cover, asv levers, 14t front sprocket

Can't help you on the 796 BUT if you go to the Arrow website they have detailed diagrams for every exhaust - should be able to puzzle it together from there.
