My old/first "real" bike, and I found her and brought her home :)

I was 17 when I bought this 900 ss/sp (95').  After an VTR250 then EX500, I jumped on this 900ss and rode it for several years.  Finally sold it during college when I was forced to give up the garage and I didn't want to see it sit outside.

It's in ROUGH shape, but has some nice bits on it.

41mm FCR's
Ohlins rear shock
Gold valves in the forks
The nice SP floating iron rotors.
New michelins

Needs:
A deep cleaning.  I'm talking pull the motor out and scrub/scuff/paint it.  Powdercoat the frame, maybe do the wheels to match.  I have a ton of 999 stuff laying around, and had thought about doing a full sbk front end, convert the rear to a 999 wheel, 999 masters with the 4 pad brakes, blah blah.  I think a more simplistic approach might win out here....

Red frame, black body work, and put the OEM headlight/CR fairing on it.  I just hate the 3 spokes!

True love never dies.
An sp. We hardly got any. I've only seen one. You're making me miss my Superlight  :'(
Hmmm. You know MBP style heads, split FCRs without the cutting wheel... [evil]
Never let her go.

My first Ducati was a black 95 Monster, I've got the same model again in red. It feels good.

not sure about the redframe/black body though.

would rather see the white/yellow of the SL or the bronze/red of the SP

Is it the actual bike you used to own?  If so, that's awesome!  If not, well, it's still pretty awesome, just not quite as awesome.   :)

Yup, it's the actual one. I've been back and forth on this, but I think I'm just going to clean her up a bit, and enjoy.  I've got enough sbk parts to build something killer, but there is no point in building it just like my 2v sbk project.

Think painting, some PCing, and maybe a few mods here and there.

Cool.

My first real one was a Dark 620 purchased through a listing on the DML. Since it left me it's changes hands at least once. I do wonder what's happened to it.. and if I'll spot it again.

Again, very cool that you found your first real ride.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

My first was a Dark 620, but bought through the local classifieds.  Mine too has been sold at least once (I saw it for sale, but it had been shortened for the guy's wife) - I expect to see it again in a couple of years.
2003 Monster 620 Dark - Sold

1999 Monster 900 City - Sold

After 7 years of Monsters, I'm sadly bikeless right now.
