Get a copy of your credit report and see what you can do to improve it.  It might not be all you - finance companies are much more stringent now.

that really sucks! You MUST get a copy of your credit report and start paying off what you see as collections, medical, etc..  THEN.. it is a must that you bring your credit card balances down by under 50% of available credit AT LEAST to boost your credit score. I worked as a loan officer for Citibank for 2 yrs and I learned ALL the tricks to improve someone's credit in as little as 2 months!! I've done it with myself, my wife, friends, etc..  If anyone here wants to know tricks to do this. . hit me a PM with your situation and I will help you. Maybe we should even start a thread on this to help ALL! [thumbsup]

You could also look elsewhere to finance then at the dealership... Dealerships are convenient, but there are usually better choices.  I have financed a few things at my bold age of 23 and been turned down by the retailer I was purchasing from twice...  I looked at some other choices and found more than a few companies who were willing to give me the loan...  If you live in a small town this could be a problem, but worth a shot to look at some other companies...  Just be aware that the credit card applications will pour into your mail box.  Don't be discouraged, just keep looking, someone will want your business.
Turn it off man, turn it off!  It's sucking my will to live!

Yeah man, those hospital bills can getcha.  :-\

I had an ambulance ride bill from when I shredded my shoulder playing lacrosse that I forgot to settle up on. This meant that I couldn't initially get the loan for part of the cost of the bike that I didn't have (about 1/2)...

-Fortunately, there is a bank across the street from my dealer that was very understanding & has a good relationship w/the Duc dealer, so they were able to hook me up..

-Don't worry, you'll be tearin' up the streets before you know it. Hang in there!!  :)

one trick i heard about improving your credit score is to increase your limit.  Allegedly, the score is in part calculated by the difference between your balance and your limit.  Allegedly.

Hey, think of it this way, if you wait long enough you can find one used.  No sales tax, no bogus set up charge, might even find one with the cans you want.

That is true, but you have to be careful when you request your credit line increase because most lenders will have to place a hard inquiry in your credit report to see if you qualify, which will look like you applied for new credit. Have the cust service rep guarantee you that he will do a soft inquiry to review your credit. that way it will not adversely affect your score.

Also, if you have TOO much credit, compared to your income, your score can go down :P
