Primer or no Primer when spray painting Timing Belt Cover?

Trying to decide if I should bother with a plastic primer before spray painting my Timing Belt Covers Black

The Bearded Duc

No need for primer, just a light sanding with a finer grit (600) wet paper will set you up fine. The sanding will scuff up the plastic enough and get the road grime off enough for the paint to stick.

One can should be enough to get you 3 or 4 coats.   [thumbsup]

Agree with this.  They turn out awesome, and you can't nick/scratch them since the dye penetrates deep.  It's seriously OEM quality.
