Farkin Fixed Starter

As some of you may know my ST had a starter motor problem, it was making horrible noises when asked to do its job, pulled the bloody thing out and took it to my local auto electrician (who by the way rebuilt my Monster starter and it came back better than new) who after a quick look decared that it was about to explode if I used it and he did'nt want to touch it.

   Anyway, nothing ventured nothing gained, I pulled the thing apart, gave it a thorough clean repacked the bearing and put a tiny dab of grease in the bush put it back together, and finally............................................  got it back in the bike, it spun beautifully but my question is this.

How do I bleed the air out of the coolant, I ran the bike for a minute and had the, what I think is the bleed nipple on the water pump, but the coolant in the catch bottle did not move and nothing out of the bleed nipple.
I dont want to cook the motor so if you have changed the coolant or had to replace the coolant HELP!!

Yep, that helped Paul thanks, now I have the bike in more parts (hope I can remember what goes where) so now the headlight is out and I'm halfway through cleaning the inside of the lens, probably upgrade the lighting whilst its apart and attend to a couple of other things too!

   Oh well, so much for registering the bike this Monday.

this is an st2/3/4/4s?  there's a drain on the water pump.  no bleed nipple anywhere.  reservoir is a recovery system, it only drops when the cap is off and if the rad is full it all runs out onto the ground.

Ok Brad, I thought it was a bleed nipple, I dont have a workshop manual so I just have to work things out, which I didnt in this case, but at least I learnt something.

    One things for sure, the starter is working better than before and the starter button on the right switch block, I think I solved the problem with it sticking in, apparently there was too much wiring in the jambed in the switch block so I pulled some of it out and the starter button is now free as a bird.

the st are hard to get the air out of.  you just fill them slowly, bit at a time.  i usually lean them over to the right, then the left, then get the front up in the air a bit.  getting the front up while they're running helps get it all out too.  fill the bottle after the radiator is full and the rad cap on, but before you run it.
