Well, I crashed at the track day yesterday.  The bike is torn up and I seem to have broken my scaphoid bone in my right wrist and a metatarcile bone at the base of my right index finger.  Will probably need surgery and a few screws to get it all back working properly; I won't know for sure until I meet with an orthopedic surgeon later this week.  I've got some miscellaneous bruising here and there, ligament damage in my neck and back, and stiffness pretty much everywhere else just to round out the list, D-Oh!

But I will say my leathers and helmet did their job; two chunks out of the top of my Bayliss replica helmet... Prolly just good for potting plants now, dammit  [bang]

Oh well, I'm out for three months while the wrist and hand heal up.  I haven't even looked at the bike yet but I think it has seen better days  :'(

Thanks very much to Tyler, RichD, Amy, Andy, Jordan and Derrick who stayed around at the track until we could come and get the bike; y'all are awesome and we really appreciate your help  [thumbsup]

Crap!!  [bang]  Sorry to hear about this Lisa. Hopefully they gave you some good pain meds. Hopefully it goes without saying, but if there's anything you need help with, speak up.

How'd it happen?

Speedy recovery Lisa!!!

Let me guess.......Coming out a corner doing a power wheelie, while crossed up, with one hand on the throttle and the other giving the "hang-ten" sign, or something like that?

HA, something like that!  [laugh]

Thanks for all the well wishes, I appreciate it.  As far as what happened, I turned in too early at the apex of one of the faster corners on track and just basically ran out of road on the exit of the corner.  Once I saw I wasn't going to be able to keep it on the track, I stood up the bike, braked hard on the asphalt and aimed for what looked like smooth-ish grass off-track then let off the brakes...

One ginormous trench later, and the handle bars hit full lock on the right, I go over the top, and the bike slams down hard on it's left-hand side.  I land on the top of my head then smack down on my left hip and elbow.  Face shield gone, glasses gone and I've got a facefull of dirt for all my trouble!  [bang]  Thanks for shoppin'

Track days - you gotta luv 'em  [roll]

I've been going over my bike trying to see what needs replacing.  And, as is my custom (!), I've provided a pix or two for your dining enjoyment.  Unfortunately, the parts list is pretty damn long.

Front cowl/fairing
Metal left side front fairing stay
Both left side fairings
CF intake runner cover
Both pieces of the seat/tail fairing
Front CF fender

Left clip on
Clutch lever
Turn signal switch housing
Shift lever
Left rear set and foot peg
Oil radiator (broke off the mounting tabs)

Fully floating oil radiator  [bang]

Most normal people would probably just part out the bike.  However... I think I might try and get it back on the road.  Seems like a decent winter project.  Now all I have to do is the friggin' cast of my wrist and I'll be good to go.

On the bright side, sounds like the makings of a streetfighter project.  Less is more  [evil]

The brackets on the oil cooler are aluminum, yes?

...I'd be willing to weld it back together if that's what you want to do.   [thumbsup]
