Greetings from Indiana.  Well Fishers, IN to be exact.

Dave here and new to the forum as well as to Ducati...in fact new to motorbiking as well.  Yes my first ever motorbike is a 2012 Ducati M696.  I have only had it a few weeks and weather and schedule permitting have around 350 miles.  Not much time at all, but the quality of those times have been fantastic.

I am a 6th grade science teacher and along with my students we looked at several different options.  Some wanted a Harley as their dad or grandfather had one.  Just don't think I am a Harley guy (as of now) and when I showed them Ducati there were oohhs and aaahhhs.  Plus I really wanted a Ducati.  :)

So I took and passed our state's motorcycle safety class, passed my driving test, got my license and have been enjoying it so far.  Not terribly keen on wet rides, but so far have been able to deal with the cold.

I look through these forums as well as local club forums and see how the mod bug is quite contagious.  Currently deciding on whether to upgrade the exhaust or keep it like it is for awhile.

Anyway glad to be here and learn what I can from you folks.

Cheers

Dave

:D I love the fact that your 6th graders helped you choose a bike! Congratulations!

I'm a master's student--going to become a secondary English teacher in rural Colorado, and am saving for a Monster--I'm glad to hear that teachers can afford them too! Happy riding.

Best Of luck with the teaching future.  It can be a blast of a way to make a living.  As for the salary to buy a Ducati, well I chose to sell all of my racing bicycles to afford mine.  But my salary does allow me to pay for gas and a Ducati riding jacket!

Half full man only way to go!  The kids (I teach 110 of them) loved being involved.  One group of a few bight me a small toy monster for my desk.  Made the fun even better!

Best of luck!
