I have been to a pumping station (is this a good google translate thing don't know)
It's in the Netherlands , and when is't realy getting wet they start up this steam driven station to pump out the water
It has 4 steam engines and eight 500m3/minute pumps
It think it's great ,it's in 1920 and it's run by volunteers

Thats pretty cool - I've had the opportunity to help with a couple steam powered sawmills - fun stuff  Thanks for the pics!
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

8 x 500m3 Pumps?

That's water flowing at 240 kph in a 1.12m diameter pipe.

That's a *lot* of water.  :o

Why 1.12m diameter?

1.12m diameter = 1m2

Made the calculations easy.  [laugh]
