I bought a new zipper to replace the one on my antique Teknic jacket that's worn out.  It came pre-attached to a Dainese clown-suit jacket that matches my Dainese clown suit pants, so now I look like a complete pretentious twat on the bike.

If this Dainese clown suit is not, itself, ostentatiously decorated with offensive levels of Ducati branding ... then you have a long way to go before you are the complete pretentious twat.

If it is ... then you are well on your way ... join the club [laugh]

I cleaned and lubed the chain. Let's just say that my initial good intentions of doing it every 1000km hasn't lasted .... and it was filthy!

It's actually quite black, with no mention of Ducati, but still ostentatious nonetheless.  It has titanium shoulder protecters.  I know that because they have "titanium" written on them :)

All the love has been for Kristyn's Spada of late.  It was running like a dog Wednesday (my guess was that we'd dislodged some grime while painting the tank, which had then clogged a jet in one of the carbies).  In any case, it was only running on one cylinder.  I had to rescue it from her work.

So last night we removed the carbies, stripped them, cleaned them inside and out and reassembled, plus threw shiny new spark plugs in.  It goes like an insane beast now.  I never thought a 250 could be so quick.

Meanwhile, my Monster is being neglected.  I promise to ride it today though :)

Fitted a wave disc on the rear to match the front ones. Book suggests that you need to dis-assemble the excentric hub (single swing arm) but was easily able to remove the disc without doing so.

Job took less then 45min. Probably won't change the braking capacity but looks very nice  :)

OK mine wasn't today either.

I decided Monday morning was a good time to take a ride to Tasmania's central highlands, in particular, Tarraleah power station.

About 4 hours return. Brilliant weather, very little traffic and the best part, no police presence. It was just what I needed to get my mojo back after getting a speeding ticket on a recent run up the east coast. For some reason that really put a dent in my riding enjoyment. Not sure why but it really make the beast with two backsed with my chi.

Fitted the recently purchased rizoma reverse retro mirrors. Looks the goods - except for the old mirror mounting points, but thats for another day.

Double points weekend + a shite load of rain means i have no idea if they work though

Today I bought my monster 4 tanks of fuel before lunchtime.
The mod that makes you feel better?

Getting to know the bike now, 1500 klm in 3 weeks. Have ordered the comfort seat, not comfortable with the std seat after 2-3 hrs.
Mind you, my left hand only has half the movement and strength since a stroke last May, and both legs are stuffed since being run over by a semi trailer back in the 80's. Sense of balance is limited, so havent really tested the bike LOL.
Sucks being old!

Holy crap! Good on you for still riding. Lesser humans would have given it up already.  [thumbsup]

I promise never to complain of soreness after a long ride again.

New Akrapovic titanium and carbon fibre muffler to replace the twin Termi's.

Picked it up this morning after ordering it three months ago.

Just need to make a two-into-one adapter then check the tune on the dyno.

The quality is as good as you can get. Love it.
