Hi, my name is Erik and I’m already a monster addict.

I live just outside of Madison, Wisconsin and started riding last summer when I bought a Rebel 250, took the MSF course, and then put on about 2K miles mostly commuting country roads.

An old college roommate had a yellow monster (those are the fastest right?) and for some reason the duc-bug stuck and I began searching Craigslist daily from Minneapolis to Chicago for a 600-750 monster.

Finally found a gem late December with a 2000 M750 that had only 5k miles.   [clap]
Pics or it didn’t happen right?

Its real.  And bone stock so that just rings trouble for me.
My wife doesn’t understand why there are already pieces laying all over in the garage…oh if she only knew!

Anyway, started with some tlc maintenance:  chain clean, changed all the fluids, filters, plugs, belts, etc.  And she’s already pre-gutted for the tail-chop, just deciding if I want to fab my own or not, since I certainly have the time with it being winter.

This forum has already provided great information during my first month of ownership, so thanks to all the contributors.

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Hi Robin, you motivated me to post some updates...and I figure everyone likes bike pictures!

Here she is all shiny and bug free.
Main mods so far include the tailchop, integrated taillight, and barend mirrors/signals.

These are my babies, both 1 year old (to me)

My small group rides are always a random assortment of misfits:

My wife says I do as much tinkering as I do riding...

Work parking lot, we're up to about 6 bikes now, not bad for a small company.

In progress:
working on some spare cans to clean up the wheelbarrow look post tailchop

Otherwise a few other minor mods include frame sliders, dyed belt covers, 14T, frame stickies, etc...
but certainly have plenty more to go!
