Living The Dream/My New Toy... : )

So I've been back from Afghanistan for two months now, and I've been living the dream...

Not a week has gone by when I haven't hooked up with a beautiful woman.  I've been putting my life back together piece by piece, and I'm better than I've been in a long time.

I've replaced everything that my Ex and I owned together, minus the entertainment stand for my TV, and the kitchen table and chairs.   I've got new furniture in the living room, a new bedroom set, and a Tempur-Pedic bed to go with it.  The bathroom and the kitchen are completely new, down to the shower curtain, and the last piece of cutlery.  I've got art and pictures of my son on the walls, and candles in the living room and bedroom.  I'm on a first name basis with almost every employee at Bed Bath and Beyond, as well as Pier 1.  The end result is that I come home at the end of each day to a place where every aspect and every detail appeals to me.  I haven't been this comfortable or happy in years... :)

Two days ago, I put the last piece of the puzzle together.  I got myself a new toy... I've been driving the Ford Focus that I bought for my Ex ever since I got back.  I ended up getting stuck with it, because it was in my name, and I was making the payments.  I paid it off last September.  I thought about holding on to it since it was paid off, but it ended up being a daily reminder of all the bullshit that I put up with for her.  I wanted a vehicle for me.

On Friday, I put a down-payment on, and signed the paperwork for a 2012 Chevy Camaro.  I'm going to pick it up on Tuesday (the actual model was at a dealership 300 miles away).

I've always been in to motorcycles... I've never been a car guy.  That being said, I haven't been this excited about a purchase since I got my Monster two years ago.  This baby has everything:

It's a model 1LT, Black w/ black cloth interior, 323hp V6, 6 speed manual transmision, RS package (20 inch wheels & LED headlights), connectivity package (USB and Bluetooth), leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, power sunroof, and high profile spoiler...

I'm in love...

I'll post pictures of the Camaro when I pick it up!!!

It may be petty of me having gone through the same kinda shit but *hi5*.
My ex decided to screw me over while I was on active duty nearly 1800 miles away.
Seeing her reaction to all of the great things that have happened in my life is such sweet vindication.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

I decided to get a sports car, as I couldn't justify the price of a new truck...  Especially with the price of gas the way it is.

I definitely wanted American Muscle. It was a toss up for me between the Challenger and the Camaro... I love Fords, but I'm not a big fan of the Mustang.

I know exactly what you mean... Every time she drops my son off at my place, and sees one of my new additions to the apartment, or meets one of the women that I'm with, I can't help but smile on the inside.

I'm looking forward to Wednesday when I get to pick up my son in my new car...  I got the Camaro for me, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the perks.  [cheeky]
