Taking a cruise sailing out of Miami.  We're flying into the Miami airport the night before.  I know nothing about the area, as I've never been to Miami.  I need to locate a hotel close to either the airport or cruise port and sort out some transportation via local shuttle or taxi.  I know there is a shuttle from the airport to the cruise port, BUT we're arriving the day before and won't be t

I need to know what areas are decent to book a hotel in that are still within a reasonable taxi or shuttle ride of both the airport & cruise terminal.  Not looking for anything really fancy, just somewhere that's reasonably safe and around $100/night.

PM if you need details.

Thanks!

Sorry I didn't see this before dude. I hope you haven't left yet. Depending on the time of the year you should be able to find a deal right on the beach. Going from the airport to the port of Miami is a super easy, just east of the airport. Staying in the heart of South Beach is fun, but can get expensive. Going a bit north, past 16th Street, will get you above the tourist traps. the beach is litered with taxis that can take you to the port (not that cheap considering the short drive). PM me if you want more details.
