Fork Reflector Removal

It's time to get rid of those fork reflectors. I've been looking at them for 2 months now and it's time for them to fall victim to a spring project. Just looking to the Forum for a sanity check first.

I've searched, and this seems to be the process:

1. Heat with hair drier.
2. Remove using dental floss.
3. Clean up with WD40.

Does this sound right? Hoping that one of you will chime in before I make a mess of things.

Thanks!

yup sounds good .

you can also pop them off with a Kish stick if you have one ..then clean up as necessary.

As demonstrated to me by a generous Flounder/Administrator at the first DIMBY:

Put your thumb on one side.

Put the first knuckle of your index finger on the other side.

Twist, like you're trying to screw on a wing nut. But really hard.

<snap!>

Then go have a beer. But stay away from 'TiNi's margaritas. They'll kick your ass.

If that doesn't work, then yes, apply heat.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

This is probaly a dumb question but whats with the stupid reflectors on the forks anyway.

The floss method is the best and you dont even need to heat them. Then just use some goo gone to clean up the residue. It took maybe 5 min. [thumbsup]

Yep...  I used dental floss to get them started and then twisted them off; easy-peasy.  No heating necessary.  Goo-Gone took off the residue.
