oooph, i know those are popular, but they are just not for me. especially looks-wise.  I hear they are quite popular with the MX folks, but none of my dirtbikes ever had anything that fancy.

I've got Ohlins dampers on all of mine.  Purse-snatcher on two (longways), under triple on one (sideways) and in normal SBK position on the SBK obviously (sideways).   if you want to follow after race-technology, they are all using the damper-rod tech still.   The desmosedici uses a purse-snatcher type mount (longways), the Factory 1198RS and the Panigale 1199 use the sideways mount.  Nobody is using the rotory dampers at the top level, and for whatever reason Ohlins/DP discontinued that style damper and removed it from the parts catalog.

^ all true but if were honest about how we ride our monsters very few people need the top most level of adjustability.

the scotts is a high end and very capable damper. I like how compact it is and how protected it would be in even a very hard wreck. the purse snatcher is awesome but it is heavily exposed, the SBK is mount is better but its pretty bulky with a similar feel.

???   The SBK mount for the Monster is no bigger than a scotts - heck, mine is under the lower triple via the Motowheels kit (Ducati Performance used to offer a similar kit)

The Scott's mounts between the risers and under the bars, SBK style mounts above the bars, Scott's is just a bit bigger then the palm of my hand, SBK is the length of my hand...

Not like it's a big deal either way, it's just personal taste.  I was mostly just mentioning that you dont need a world class racing damper for an air cooled naked street bike, pretty much anything will get the job done.

Its not about world-class-racing versus monster-street-riding,  a tank slapper generating X amount of force could occur in either situation (and more frequently on the street where the suspension is all sorts of wrong for somebody's weight - coupled with some geometry setups - see H-D death wobbles, for an example)

If I don't want to change the bar risers (aka Scott's), what model/brand will work with the 1100 Evo?

bitubo, for one.

I'm actually using the shorter ('09-'11) bar risers on my otherwise stock 2012 1100 Evo.  I went on Bellisimoto and solomotorparts and they each has the damper listed as fitting the '09-'11.  So I'm not 100% sure if that applies to me or not.  Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it would fit to me, worst case scenario you shim it into place with some spacers.  You can even get black aluminum spacers in various sizes from McMaster-Carr at ridiculously cheap prices.

I have the same setup on my m750. Ohlins. Where can I get the clams for the 1100evo??  Looks like the frame is thicker... I'll put an ohlins and call it a day... That damper on my m750 never disappointed me... Please let me know where to find the clams .. ThX

I picked up an Matris M4R for my 1997 M900, Mounts under the tank/triple left to right.

Hi, I would like to get a Bitubo or Hyperpro steering damper for M1100 Evo, but on their catalogues I can't find the EVO versions, just 696 or 1100 (S). Did anyone tried to put one of those dampers on 1100 EVO or any other damper?

If you guys are interested, I've got a new BiTubo damper for your 696/796/1100 Monsters.  Complete with hardware.

Let me know if interested.
