Can I powder coat my rear sprocket hub/carrier? I know I'm probably better off buying a new CNC Billet one but the CNC ones aint cheap.

Yeah thats exactly what I'm thinking... but... I could get mine powder coated for less than $50.

Possibly. But then you've got to wait until they run the PC before you can ride the bike. I'm too impatient that way.

Have you fitted a Single Sided Swingarm to your 620?

'Cause the DSS sprocket carrier is virtually hidden.....

thats why you pick up a used one on e-bay and have it coated, then swap out.

I dont have a single swing arm but I can clearly see the sprocket holder in its ugly metallic silver. Not really hidden at all.

Take it off, clean with a decent solvent based cleaner then blast over with some satin black and youre done in 60 minutes.

The sprocket carrier is so hidden that once its black it will become almost invisible so even an epileptic monkey could get away with painting it ;)

btw not that youre a monkey  ;)

Spray paint... even the hi-temp stuff... is sh*t. Tried to use it as a low cost alternative to coating/anodizing some of the engine casing bolts but it doesn't hold well. Unless you want to keep removing and repainting I'd suggest going the coating route.

Shite!! I powder coated my rearsets but spray painted the bolts. You telling me its not going to last very long on those bolts?

Personally I'd have just changed these for stainless steel bolts as they are fairly cheap, but youre right that bolts wont hold paint very well especially once youve used spanners / allen keys on them.

I still say paint the thing, even if its whilst you are waiting for your second ebay one to be coated ;)
