What a cool movie even if it does leave a lot unanswered.

What's with the giant head?

What were the aliens running from originally?

Great to see the evolution of the Alien we know and love, and apparently created ourselves.

The David character was great, and creepy.

The giant humans looked like us so no reason why their statuary wouldn't too...

I am guessing that the captain's estimation was correct. That humans on earth were a mistake and that they were coming to unleash their WMDs on our asses and OOOPS...they got away from us.

Now my question is, is this the same planet we visit in Alien/Aliens? Because we have the turret like device(ship's control center) showing up in both...

I think this might be where the two movies diverge.

In Aliens the planet is LV426, in Prometheus its LV266 (I think, I don't remember the number but it was definitely not the same)

In Alien the wrecked ship is found with its pilot in the command turret dead with it's chest burst.

In Prometheus he obviously would have been unable to make it back to the chair.

Re: the head, I was more asking what its purpose was. Id like to know more about that room. Perhaps the next movie will answer that.

I thought it a little cliche that Ms Vikers got squished.

Dr Shaw was pretty hard core to have a c section then minutes later be running, jumping rapelling and dragging Davids body and head.

Id want her on my team :)

Also, all the ancient cave paintings show the star cluster and a giant being.  That would seem to indicate the big boys returned to earth multiple times and had interaction with humans.

More  [thumbsup] than [thumbsdown], but still some  ???

Why were the engineers fleeing into the room with the giant head given that it was full of those containers with "Aliens"?

Why didn't the Prometheus have weapons to shoot down the other ship instead of having to ram into it? Yea, scientific mission: bullshit!

Why was the navigator going to take his ship to earth (and presumably exterminate mankind) given that his species had created humans?

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Theron jumping shark.."father".  Too obvious and seemed like bad acting on her part a couple of times.

Beginning when the guy took drink and he went over waterfall??
What was that all about?

Didn't understand those other two pilots in ship eagerness to blow up ship and commit suicide with the captain?  He wasnt that inspiring. The captains little stand in the front of the cockpit was very much Flash Gordon-like.

Effects and the 3-D were incredible though. Liked the female character up until after c-section. As previously said.
I was disappointed with he fact that they didn't use any stobelight effects like in first movie or that alarm sound like in the trailer. That was a freaky sound! They could've made it darker and left more for imagination.

the old guy Lookeda bit like val Kilmer.
Was waiting for the end to lead up to Alien but as mentioned..the pilot wasn't left in the seat.

Would still like to see it again on DVD.

The guy in the beginning was seeding earth with dna so we could come to be. Or so they could come to be but we did by mistske?  Not clear on that.

Yup, that's what I came away with.

I didn't get this either. You'd think they would have been running out of that room.

So apparently the ship in Alien was one of many of these ships dispersed out to destroy humanity everywhere, but the critters sorta changed the plan....

Loved it otherwise, great effects and imagery. The surgery sequence was great. And Charlize is still damn hot for 54 years old too.

WTF

Read somewhere recently she was 54. Seems their fact checker failed. 37 is far more believable....
